My Services

As a professional freelance translator, I offer a wide range of services to help you communicate effectively with your Polish-speaking audience. Whether you need to translate legal contracts, marketing brochures, social care reports, IT manuals or other types of documents, I can provide you with high-quality translations that are accurate, clear and culturally appropriate. I have experience in translation of documents addressed not only to residents of Poland, but also for Polish people who live abroad. Over the years I have translated texts for Polish communities in Europe, US and Australia. Here are some of the services I provide:
  1. Translation: I can translate documents in various areas from English to Polish, respecting the style, tone and purpose of the original. I have a degree in law and a diploma in translation from the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIOL). For years I have translated on a regular basis documents in such fields like law, marketing, social care, IT, HR, Health and Safety, wellbeing and others. I have completed thousands of projects and translated and revised several millions of words for various clients, ranging from small businesses to multinational corporations. Large part of my work is confidential and I have NDAs with most of my clients so I don’t provide public portfolio of previous translations but if you are interested in how I would handle your project I am ready to discuss it and offer my suggestions.
  2. Proofreading: I can check and correct any errors or inconsistencies in spelling, grammar, punctuation and formatting in your Polish texts. I have a keen eye for detail and a thorough knowledge of Polish language rules and conventions. I can proofread texts that have been translated by me or by another translator. You can trust me to polish your Polish copy and make it flawless.
  3. MTPE: MTPE (Machine Translation Post Editing) is shunned by many translators. It is not my favourite area, however I understand that in the era of dynamic development of AI, in some situations (for instance in case of internal communication, especially requiring quick turnaround), this service may the best choice for a specific project .  For this reason I made an effort to learn how to take advantage of this relatively new solution and offer it to my clients. I have experience in working with various machine translation tools and platforms. I subscribe MT services and may apply MT myself or edit texts that have been machine-translated by you or by a third-party provider. I can also advise you on the best way to use machine translation for your specific needs and goals. You can rely on me to enhance your machine-translated texts and make them sound more natural.
  4. Terminology research and glossary creation: I can analyse your materials and research terminology to prepare a glossary of key terms and phrases for your specific domain or project. I have access to various online and offline resources and databases. I can create glossaries that are consistent, accurate and up-to-date. I can also update and maintain existing glossaries. You can benefit from my glossaries to ensure terminological consistency and accuracy across your materials. This solution is particularly useful if you expect that you may need to work with several translators, as it helps them to stay on the same page.
  5. Consulting: When I begun to work as a translator in 2006, for many years the vast majority of my work involved straightforward translation and proofreading. However with the passage of time I kept adding new services what gave me awareness of a wide spectrum of potential solutions, I have also gained experience of work with a wider team and learned how various language professionals may cooperate with each other and with other teams. These days I am quite capable of not only providing these various services, but also of advising my clients what mix of services will work best for them. Sometimes the best value for money may be achieved by splitting the bulk of materials into different categories and processing them differently. For example the best approach in localisation of internal documents will involve MTPE, which typically won’t be appropriate in case of important documents intended for publication. At the same time investment of a few hours into preparation of a glossary with terms most common or most important for organization will keep paying back in terms of consistency and will save huge amount of repeated work and research in the future. One shouldn’t forget about benefits of proper maintenance of Translation memories which in the long run may save much more work and money than application of MT ever would. I give some specific examples of such services or solutions in Case Studies.
